Scrubs & Screenings: Educate. Engage. Empower.

Where Conversation Meets Community Care

Scrubs & Screenings is an initiative and signature event series hosted by TNA District 7 that brings nurses, students, healthcare professionals, and community members together to explore pressing social and health issues through the lens of film, dialogue, and collective action.

Each event features a thought-provoking screening — from documentaries to feature films — followed by a panel discussion and facilitated discussion that invites attendees to reflect, share, and engage in meaningful conversations that matter. Whether it's tackling workforce challenges, health disparities, or ethical dilemmas in care, Scrubs & Screenings creates space for reflection, connection, and change.

  • Open to all — nurses, students, educators, and the community
  • Designed to inspire dialogue, advocacy, and deeper understanding
  • Rotating themes focused on current issues in nursing and healthcare
  • Held across Central Texas, with partners from academic and healthcare institutions

Come for the screening. Stay for the conversation. Leave with purpose.

Join us for our August 2025 Scrubs & Screenings: Everybody's Work: Healing What Hurts Us All by SHIFT Films

Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1 PM | UMHB Isabelle Rutherford Meyer Nursing Education Center | Open to all

Produced by SHIFT Films, Everybody’s Work is a powerful documentary that explores how trauma, inequity, and disconnection shape our health and communities — and how collective healing is possible when we all take part. Through moving stories and expert insights, the film challenges us to reimagine systems of care and reminds us that healing is not just clinical — it’s everybody’s work.
